The Kingdoms of Temanea
Temanea
The kingdoms of Temanea are a collection of five kingdoms joined in an alliance, mostly surrounding the Gold Sea of eastern Suribia. These are the Porosoea, Veherdea, Ladera, Baradea, and Hodea Kingdoms. Also in this region are the Sema people on the Hoda Peninsula, the Teruveans of Teruvas and nearby islands, and the Sopones on the Espel Islands. Ahoreans of Grave Island are also considered to be descendants of Temaneans.
For history of these people, see Temanea History.

The Hoda Peninsula and Hodea Mountains see a lot of monsoonal rains earthquake activity and are some of the warmest places in Temanea. Greenstorm Peninsula, Teruvas, Lesser Teruvas, and Lone Island also see a lot of rain and flooding, and are very green locations. The Southern Plains are the most inhabited part of Temanea, and the ancient city of Hoda in the Bay of Teman has been the home to the most emperors and the greatest kings in the history of Temanea. West of the Bay of Teman is the Golden Basin, once a stretch of prosperous mining towns along the Goldwater River. The gold miners here are responsible for much of the success and wealth of Temanea throughout history, as it is one of the most gold-abundant places in the history of Riiga. The western border here stops at the Blood Mountains, so called because of all the lives lost in the countless wars between Temanea and Dunin over time. The eastern half of the Great Mancisa Plain contains the Laderea Kingdom, and is mostly cold grassland and open forests. The Northern Plains are similar, though the Protesan Mountains to the north help shelter it from arctic winds. The Uplands get the coldest and windiest weather in Temanea, and are seen as the least prosperous kingdom.

For a long time, people of Temanea have believed in Kaja. Kaja is the belief that the great spirits of the world govern everything, from the fate of individuals and societies, to natural disasters and changes of weather. Kaja also dictates that everything in the world has a spirit including animals and plants, objects like weapons and houses, and natural phenomena, and if these spirits are mistreated, insulted, or disrespected, it can lead to negative repercussions.
* Ladari Dynasty

The first king of Ladarea around 850BD claimed to be occupied by the great spirit of a mountain. The king after him claimed to be the sun, and after him, the king of the spirit of the moon. After four hundred years of this, the first emperor, Emperor Hodasea, claimed to be occupied by the supreme spirit of the golden heart. This is referring to the heart of Riiga itself, which Temaneans believe to be made of gold, as their way of explaining the existence of the sacred and valuable material.
* Bandiao Dynasty

Temanea has spent most of the Lyte Era and part of the Silver Era as one empire, united under the second Hodasean emperors. Prior to this empire, Hodasea was a republic state, but before that it was the first Hodasean Empire. Though there are no longer any emperors, the alliance of the five kings keeps Temanea fairly united.
