Yvatshun History

Mythology

In a time lost to memory, Riiga was an uninhabited wasteland void of life, containing only grey dust and grey skies, slowly crumbling away into the void. Zhuboshtiv wandered into this land and sat down on a rock to rest. He fell asleep and awoke to find that the land had swallowed him up, and he felt such pity for the wasteland that he gave his body to it. His fingers and toes extended upward, forming forests and mountains, and as he cried his tears formed the seas. Caves gave him access to air to breathe, and roots hold the land together, preventing it from slipping into the black void below.

Zhuboshtiv bore a god for company known as Bizhjen, but this being soon abandoned him and went to another cave to make his own beings. Zhuboshtiv created other gods too, but one by one they all left him for a life on the surface. Ksevan, the greatest of Zhuboshtiv's children, wandered into a tribe of people who were excellent hunters, and who made offerings to Zhuboshtiv, thanking him for holding the land together. Ksevan was so impressed that he decided to stay with these people and he gave them knowledge and power until they grew to become the Bymir people of old, after whom the lands are named.

Prehistory

According to their tales, the Bymir people inhabited almost all of western Armalia. Even Qarbak history describes the Yvatshun once living in Sheber, back when it was greener and cooler. The Bymir were so in touch with nature and Zhuboshtiv that they saw relatively little in the way of major conflicts.

• 2600BD The Yvabiran religion starts spreading rapidly throughout the people.

Yvatshun People

• 750BD Yvatshun people make a comeback, bringing their religion and culture back in strength.
• 600BD Velishtav city founded.
• 400BD Parchment is introduced from various neighbouring cultures.
  • Yvatshun people are the first to develop vowel notation.

750BD - 200BD

Ruins from this era include hill forts, barrows, and hofs.

Yvabira Kingdom (Early)

Bymir and Ideitess.

• 200BD King Dievosav of the Yvabiran Kingdom is crowned.
• 100BD The Alatian religion appears in Ideitess.
  • City of Oropstov founded.
  • The monster-slaying Nhorcean Order is founded in the city of Yatzhev.
• 50BD Ideitess is conquered by the Xilou Hoqomer.
• 0BD The Darkness hits Bymir, completely collapsing the kingdom.

200BD - 0BD

Ruins from this era include hofs and hill forts.

• 150AL City of Ellecil is founded.

Modern Yvatshun Cultures

Bymir and Ideitess.

• 600AL Dunian warlords struggle to hold on to heavily forested Bymir lands and the native Yvabiran Kingdom quickly replaces them.
• 650AL Yvabiran kings adopt the feudal system and steel from Benevis_History.
• 750AL The Kingdom of Alacas is founded, along with the construction of the city of Alacas upon the archaios ruin, also called Alacas.
