===Culture and Locations===
Henmi is a feudal monarchy on one of the Islands of Night and is ruled by a shogun. Despite being one of the Islands of Night, it does not experience the [[Geography#Phenomena|Blue Night]]. Its main religion is [[Religions#Gontoism|Gontoism]], which teaches to act virtuously in order to receive blessings of local spirits. The people of Henmi are known for their patience, content to wait and watch, not pressured by the busyness of heavy civilisation. Its capital is Lyarai. 

Henmi is made up of temperate forest and montane forest. It lies between the Augair and the North Augair oceans. Rihuo Island lies to the south of the easternmost point.

===History and Relations===
The island was once a part of the [[Temanea History#So Esn Kingdom|So Esn Kingdom]] when the people of the kingdom fled to the islands to avoid war around 300BD. On arriving, the newcomers overpowered the native populations of Mearans. The [[Batur_History#Dunian Empire|Dunian Empire]] then swept across Temanea and eventually captured the island. As the Dunians fought the invading Teman peoples on the island but avoided the native Mearans, the Mearans took the opportunity after Dama Mang's eruption and rose up against the invaders around 600AL, taking back their island. After several wars and conflicts, the island became consolidated under one shogun. Henmi wants to remain independent. The people here come from the [[Ethnicity#Mearan|Mearan]] ethnic group. They maintain a neutral relationship with all nearby kingdoms. They mainly export porcelain and their own slaves. It is rumoured that the [[Trade#Augair Trade Authority|Augair Trade Authority]] hire pirates from Tenhan to harass opposing traders who cross the Augair Channel. 

===Military and Art===
Henmi are known for warrior priests who specialise in combatting demonic forces. They are said to be so skilled that they can not move for many hours to several days and pass as statues. Common architectural features include curved eaves and detailed woodwork, and common artforms include poetry, paper-craft, and weaving.
