Culture and Locations

The Crown of Simbea has a decorative monarch, but the rulers are a royal council made up of democratically-elected representatives from all the cities from across the crown. The Red Temple (Dualkedorian Creed) is the state religion, which believes in a dichotomy of powers -- of good versus evil forces -- and this belief mostly originates from the fact that Red Temple was the heart of early Vastion culture after the Darkness. The people of Simbea enjoy philosophy above all else, combining the ancient wisdom of western hoqomers with modern sciences from northern kingdoms. The capital of Simbea is Redpalm. The Pit of Euxafi is an ancient stone arena built in the Grey Era.

Simbea is mostly dry grassland, with some mediterranean climate along its western shores and semiarid desert and arid shrubland to the south where the Simbean Desert sits. All its shores meet the Sea of Lyte, and the Yrth Ranges reach into the northern ends of the kingdom. The Great River flows through it from Vastin, and the Boseur river makes up most of its western border with the Eber Empire.

History and Relations

Simbea was a part of the Vastin kingdom around 850AL, but gained independence and broke away due to the successful implementation of a different political system with the support of the Red Temple. They have been living around the Simbean Desert for a very long time. Relations with the Vastin Kingdom are tense and uneasy due to the recent breakaway, and Simbea sees the Eber Hoqomer to the west as cultural rivals. The ethnic origins of Simbeans are uncertain and they are easily recognisable by their tri-colour irises. Simbea mainly exports grain, oil, spices, and Hoqon Blue pigment, and imports significant numbers of slaves from across Tuaram.

Military and Art

The classic Simbean soldier is heavy infantry with engineering knowledge. They are formidable in warfare -- another reason for their longevity in this region -- and invented war trains, which are pulled by orcanor -- large and strong creatures found only in the same region. Common architectural features include minarets, colonnades, and hexagonal domes, and common artforms include weaving, fistfighting, and festivals.
