Remdor

For the history of these people, see Remdor History.

Most people in Remdor are part of a feudal kingdom ruled by a king.

The capital of Maugnon is Mourvan and has a population of ~179,000.

The capital of Asshor is Leruzin, with a population of ~109,000.

The capital of Sesar is Rohandra and has a population of ~89,000.

The capital of Drarus is Kyrdan, with a population of ~72,000.

The capital of Vyrtdan is Dalnaung and has a population of ~55,000.

Religions

The majority of these kingdoms have the god-less Remdorian Sect as their official religion. Priests called curators dwell in temples called sects, which act like churches for the populace. The high priests have significant authority in the land, but the sect is not higher than the king himself.

In Asshor, mystic kings can be found ruling. Mystics themselves dwell in sacred buildings called ostriva. As with a hoqomer, high mystics are seen as very authoritative figures, and in many cases act alongside ruling powers.

Magic

Remdor has a fairly even distribution of mage types, with magiturgists, magimancers, and magichaists being as uncommon as one another, with magificers making up an even smaller number.

Common magic orders include impiturgy and diviniturgy.

Magic is mostly tied to religion, and is sometimes used for production.

Economy

Coins called feorams and barter are both valid ways to trade in Remdor.

This region mostly offers high quality lumber and silver, with some more average quality gold in the way of trade.

Military

Remdorian military is used for defence and offense, and guards are utilised to enforce the law and protect the privileged.

Naval forces in this region are similar to those in Benevis, but they have fallen behind in terms of having large navies.

Ranged weapons common among soldiers include bows, crossbows, artillery, and sometimes magic. Melee weapons commonly include bladed weapons, polearms, blunt weapons, and sometimes peasant weapons.

Remdorian elite soldiers are known to be individuals of legend, demonstrating the might of their homeland with their combat prowess and skills in handling many weapons in many environments.

Culture

Common forms of entertainment include festivals, food and drink, gambling, music, and tournaments.

Common forms of artwork include paintings, sculpture, singing, jewellery, and smithing.

Common cultural practices include festive rites of passage, holy wars, mysticism, and ritualistic singing.

Common cultural beliefs include believing in ghosts, and the weak should fear the strong.

Building materials used include thatch, timber, slate, and stone brick. Clothing materials used include linen, hide, and fur.

Orders

  • The Remdorian Sect, the biggest religion.
  • The Aegis, an order of elite warriors who serve and protect their king.
